Kent State football coach Doug Martin announced today that he is resigning effective after the Golden Flashes' season finale against Ohio on Friday. Martin was the head coach for seven seasons and has a career record of 28-53. Martin's best season was in 2006 when Kent State went 6-6.
It's not surprising that Martin's resigning, Kent State has been mediocre at best for seven seasons and going nowhere fast. It'll be interesting to see who Kent State hires to lead them back as a program.
