Akron Men's Soccer 48 game unbeaten streak over

Akron's NCAA-record 48 game home unbeaten streak was ended in stunning fashion on Wednesday night after losing a 1-0 decision to the visiting Michigan State Spartans. MSU scored a goal with 3:26 left in the second half and while the Zips tried valiantly to answer, they just couldn't get it past the Spartan keeper. This is a bad loss for the Zips, as losing at home to an unranked, under-.500 team will likely drop them in the rankings. It may also put them out of the running for home field advantage in the NCAA tournament as well. This is not the usual elite team we are used to seeing, and dominating the MAC tournament is a must for the ZIps.
