Belt Loops: Akron Is The Champion Of Canada

Stay connected for news and updates

Some low-cal, low salt, low-carb MAC links to satiate your hunger on this Wednesday morning.

• They did it! Akron can't say they are worse than any team in Canada. In their exhibition tour they went a perfect 5-0, capping the trip with an 80-76 win over perennial Canadian college national champion Carleton University 80-76. Now pick on someone your own accent. [GoZips.org]

• I got a kick out of CFN's ranking of all the special team units in the country. OHIO is fifth and Kent State is seventh, which ... sure. But in their bottom group they included Toledo. Eric Page is their kick/punt returner. Also, DID THEY NOT SEE THE VIDEO? I suspect they did not. [CFN]

• There's also a Manning Award watch list, because quarterbacks just don't get enough recognition these days. On the watch list of 31 players, NIU's Chandler Harnish and WMU's Alex Carder were included. [Manning Award]

• It looks like NIU volleyball is the team to beat this year. They and Ohio are preseason faves.
