Rumor: Bowling Green to a new hockey conference -- with Buffalo?
Source: Bowling Green meeting with Niagara, Robert Morris, Canisius, Mercyhurst, and a school currently without DI hockey program.

Let me start off by saying that this is only a rumor, and we here at Hustle Belt haven't been able to find any solid confirmation. Bruce Ciskie, the play-by-play guy for Minnesota-Duluth hockey (@BruceCiskie), tweeted this morning about why Bowling Green may have gotten an extension on its deadine to join the WCHA: BG is meeting with current Atlantic Hockey schools Niagara, Canisius, Robert Morris, and Mercyhurst -- plus an unnamed school without a Division I hockey program. But Ciskie followed up with a real bombshell: "It's Buffalo, from what I've been told. As my source just said, if they start a program, it's two new programs out of this fiasco." Buffalo's athletic department, in communications with Hustle Belt, has said it's unaware of anything on this front. But who knows, there may be fire with this smoke.
