James Still Pleads Guilty To Felony Assault

Tim Fuller-US PRESSWIRE

Stemming from a crime in 2010, Still pleaded guilty to being involved in a brutal assault on a fellow student when he played basketball for Providence College.

I'm not sure how James Still can stay on the Eastern Michigan basketball roster after this. The crime Still is pleading guilty to is the one that landed former Providence teammate Johnnie Lacy in jail for at least three years of a 10-year prison sentence. I can't speculate if that means Still will also get prison time, so we'll have to wait for the sentencing portion.

Our friends over at Eagle Totem made note of this incident back in April when Still committed to EMU out of Henry Ford Community College and perceived the issue as a resolved matter ... and clearly that's not the case anymore. Still is a depth forward who will play behind the likes of Matt Balkema and Da'Shonte Riley, and if he misses an extended period of time, it probably won't hurt the team that much. He's played 14 minutes per game, averaging three points and 3.5 rebounds per contest.
