Here's why CMU won the Pizza Bowl

And the MAC is thankfully on the board with a victory in bowl season. Central Michigan held on to beat Western Kentucky 24-21. Here's why they won.

WKU's close-call TD puts CMU down 21-17

Depending on your vantage point of Kadeem Jones' one-yard touchdown "jump," he got the football to break the plane of the end zone. Or perhaps you think Jones fumbled the ball, and Jahleel Addae recovered it for a touchback, in which case CMU remains ahead 17-14. Choose your own reality.

I will say, though, that Ryan Radcliff's had some great passes, but is is living dan-ger-ous-ly. In some of his throws he has completely turned a blind eye to a defender poised to jump the route and a sure interception was dropped. If this game ends the way I think it will, an interception is ultimately going to undo CMU's chance at winning this thing. But if they can regain that lead, then Zurlon Tipton oughta destroy the clock behind that offensive line.

"To the lady I just punched in the face..."

How crazy is the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl so far? SO CRAZY. Like their bread. After a wonderful catch by Western Kentucky tight end Jack Doyle for a touchdown:

This tweet was then seen:

Yeah! Get on our level!

First quarter: puntin' and passin'

What we've seen so far:

Ryan Radcliff throwing a 69-yard touchdown to Andrew Flory
• WKU responding on the next drive with a 70-yard trick play pass, later scoring on a QB keeper
• Western Kentucky's Hendrix Brakefield booting a 72-yard punt
• Central Michigan's Richie Hogan responding with an 82-yard punt
• David Harman kicked an extra point after back-to-back false starts

Flory brought in another touchdown from Radcliff and thats how Central jumped out to a surprising 14-7 first quarter lead.

CMU's turn to change MAC bowl fates

Central Michigan plays Western Kentucky in tonight's Little Caesars Pizza Bowl, carrying on their shoulders a conference still looking to crack a decent bowl performance.
