Brian Schmiedebusch: 8 punts, 43.1 average, long 60
Chris Jone: 5 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 sack
Darrell Hunter: 8 tackles, INT
Quick line: STOP ASKING ME ABOUT THIS.
UMass:
Michael Cox: 30 carries, 188 yards, 2TD
Deion Walker: 6 catches, 81 yards
Kassan Messiah: 10 tackles, 5 solo, 2 TFL, 1 sack
Charles Thompson: 6 tackles, 2.5 TFL, 0.5 sack, QB hit
Miami:
Zac Dysert: 12-for-22, 192 yards, 3 TD, INT; 12 carries, 76 yards, TD
Jamire Westbrook: 17 carries, 106 yards
Dawan Scott: 3 catches, 92 yards, 2 TD
Mwanza Wamulumba: 7 tackles, 2 TFL, 2 QB hit, 1 sack
Dayonne Nunley: 9 tackles, 2 pass breakups, 1 INT
Quick line: Four games in, UMass is starting to show some offensive fight, and hey, they keep adding to their point total. But Zac Dysert and his receivers had outstanding days, and that was the difference.
Ryan Radcliff: 26-for-35, 283 yards, 2 TD; 5 carries, 10 yards
Cody Wilson: 8 catches, 105 yards; 4 carries, 20 yards
Titus Davis: 5 catches, 74 yards, 2 TD
David Harman: 4/4 FG (long 47)
Shamari Benton: 5 tackles, 0.5 TFL, FR
Quick line: Radcliff does not suck, at least this week. But how much has CMU been struggling? This is Dan Enos' first non-conference victory over an FBS team, and it only took him eight tries.
Alex Carder: 18-for-34, 237 yards, TD
Jaime Wilson: 8 catches, 100 yards
Josh Schaffer: 6 catches, 104 yards, TD
Desmond Bozeman: 12 tackles, 2 sacks, FF, 53-yard fumble return touchdown
Travonte Boles: 6 tackles, 2.5 TFL, 1 sack
Deauntay Legrier: 2 tackles, 2 QB hits, 1 sack, FF
Donald Celiscar: 8 tackles, 2 pass breakups, INT
Quick line: Usually one needs an A-plus game from the MAC to win against a Big East opponent. Not so. This might've been a B-plus game
Derrius Vick: 14-for-20, 4 TD; 5 carries, 14 yards
Beau Blankenship: 25 carries, 109 yards, TD; 1 catch, 24 yards, TD
Donte Foster: 5 catches, 69 yards, 2 TD
Keith Moore: 5 tackles, 1.5 TFL
Quick line: Tyler Tettleton was a no-go for this game, but you wouldn't have known it without looking at the box score. Vick did just wonderfully in his absence, distributing the ball and all facets of the team looked sound against this FCS team.
Jordan Lynch: 23-for-35, 235 yards, 2 TD, INT; 22 carries, 134 yards
Martel Moore: 5 catches, 105 yards, TD
Perez Ashford: 8 catches, 78 yards
Alan Baxter: 6 tackles, 2 sacks
Joe Windsor: 4 tackles, 2 sacks
O-Line (Tyler Loos, Jared Volk, Andrew Ness, Aidan Conlon, Ryan Brown): 0 sacks allowed, 5.6 rushing yards
Quick line: Goodness, Lynch. Same some of those yards for the rest of the season. This team is still incredibly fun to watch.
Garrett Hoskins: 8 catches, 107 yards
Jay Karutz: 9 punts, 47.4 yards, long 57
Donald Coleman: 19 tackles, 5 solo
Pudge Cotton: 14 tackles, 5 solo, 2 TFL
Quick line: I do NOT understand how Eastern Michigan led 7-6 late in the third quarter of this game. They didn't even amass 100 yards of offense until the fourth quarter. Also of note: Alex Gillett had just two carries in this game, and otherwise it was Tyler Benz playing. Might the senior QB have finally been pushed out of the mix?
Jahwan Edwards: 16 carries, 98 yards, TD
Willie Snead: 11 catches, 135 yards, TD
Keith Wenning: 24-for-36, 244 yards, 2 TD; 4 carries, 16 yards, TD
Jeffery Garrett: 13 tackles, 9 solo
Eric Patterson: 4 tackles, 0.5 TFL, 46-yard INT
O-Line (Austin Holtz, Kitt O'Brien, Dan Manick, Jordan Hansel, Cameron Lowry): 0 sacks, 4.8 rush yards allowed
Quick line: I looked at this game very curiously. I saw last year's outcome and thought, nah, no way this is going to go BSU's way. When the Cardinals piddled away a 2nd and 31 only to see USF score a touchdown two plays later, I thought that was it. But Snead's catch ... man, that was the best catch in Ball State history.
Terrance Owens: 27-for-36, 290 yards, 2 TD
Bernard Reedy: 10 catches, 122 yards, TD
Vince Penza: 6 punts, 46.5 average, long 52
Jayrone Elliott: 3 tackles, 2 sacks
Dan Molls: 14 tackles, 6 solo, 1 sack, 1 pass breakup
Trent Voss: 13 tackles, 7 solo, 2 pass breakups, TFL
Quick line: We should probably just kick Northwest Ohio out of the MAC for a few days. Let them cool their heads. I am not certain why UT almost let this one slip away.
Quentin Hines: 6 carries, 76 yards, TD
Marquelo Suel: 12 catches, 92 yards
Zach D'Orazio: 6 catches, 72 yards
Avis Commack: 8 tackles, 44-yard INT return touchdown
Malachi Freeman: 5 tackles, TFL, 3 pass breakups
Quick line: Because this was just the type of day it was: A three-point lead at an SEC stadium by a perceived last-place MAC team. It got away from them at the end, fittingly, but what a performance.
