I've been branded as "anti-GIF." This is not necessarily true; I like them! However they're overdone, oversaturating the Internet and usually suck the magic out of the moment. They're ... they're usually just weird.
But I have to confess that they are mesmerizing graphic images; a true fan vice. Something I know I shouldn't be watching but I can't help myself. I also learned how to make them, and I am the only one of my ilk who traditionally watches Bowling Green football games close enough to find the hilarious moments in them. And I located two in their 21-13 win over Idaho. So this makes me a hypocrite. I will be able to sleep at night.
First up: the Josh Pettus interception. Darrell Hunter with the set, Jude Adjei-Barimah with the squirt, and Pettus with the catch. It takes three men to make one great moment. I am hearing this was also the No. 5 play on SportsCenter last night.
Then we move to the more hilarious. Gabe Martin (#11) and Jairus Campbell (#90) sacked the quarterback. At the end of the play, Chris Jones (#91) jumped into the celebration, hugging Campbell in joy and tripping over an Idaho lineman in the process:
Chris Jones is one of the top linemen in the MAC, but jeez, he occasionally doesn't know when to get out of the way. Add this to Anthon Samuel's gator chomp and throat slash penalty ... and we might have a very interesting team to watch. Oh, and also they're good at football. That helps.
