Last weekend's sweep hurt, but not nearly as much as it would this weekend. The Minutemen and Black Bears face off in a Hockey East weekend series in Amherst.

So last weekend didn't exactly go as planned. The UMass Minutemen went up to Orono, Maine and got themselves swept. No matter, though, because those games did not count towards Hockey East thanks to the restructuring of the conference schedule. So that's the good news.

Depending on how confident you felt watching the Minutemen last weekend, this weekend's rematch with the Black Bears could be a good thing, but if they get swept again it will hurt a lot more than it did last week. These two games, to be played Friday and Saturday at the Mullins Center, have Hockey East implications.

With that in mind, here is some reading to get you caught up on what is going on with this series from the venerable news outlets that cover the team.
