UMass Center Cady Lalanne Earns Second Atlantic 10 Player of the Week Award

Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

The Minutemen have claimed the conference's top weekly award all three times in 2013-14.

This is going to start getting old, but the UMass Minutemen have claimed the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week award again after Cady Lalanne earned his second honor of the season for his play at the Charleston Classic. Lalanne averaged 14.6 points, 11.6 rebounds and three blocks per game in the three wins over the weekend.

Lalanne also claimed the inaugural award two weeks ago. Chaz Williams was selected the conference player of the week last week.

Lalanne spent the better part of the offseason making sure he was ready to be a force on the inside and has thus far proven nearly impossible to guard. There aren't many big men in the country who can play with Lalanne and as the season progresses and he gets more comfortable inside, expect more games like the 20/12/4 line he put up in the Charleston Classic championship against Clemson.
