Halftime: Ball State 35, Miami 0

As expected, the first half in Muncie has been all Cardinals. Keith Wenning has been all but perfect in the first thirty minutes, racking up five touchdowns and 301 yards in the air. (For those keeping track at home, this makes Wenning the only player in the NCAA to have ten 300-yard games this season.) And Jamill Smith has been the main beneficiary of Wenning's awesome half, with six receptions and three touchdowns to his name.

But the real standout play was a 72-yard touchdown pass from Wenning to Jordan Williams, who did a brilliant job staying in bounds along the sideline while the entire Miami defense chased him to the end zone.

On the Miami side of the ball, well, there's not much positive to say. Dawan Scott has looked solid as usual, but the play calling still seems to be 90% QB runs. We did learn, however, that Mike Bath thinks RedHawks tight end Steve Marck is the best captain he's ever seen. So there's that, I guess.

And for those of you who gamble on these things, the spread was 34.5. Ball State has covered in two quarters.
