The folks over at CollegeInsider.com released their Mid-Major Top 25 poll for week 5 today and four MAC schools find themselves making the list, while a fifth just missed the cut. Toledo leads the way for the conference, coming in at No. 8, up one spot from last week. The Rockets have leapt out to a fantastic start this season and are quickly emerging as one of the best mid-major programs this season. Kent State jumps up six spots this week to No. 15 after improving to 8-1 on the season, and notched an impressive win over Youngstown State this week. Akron is right behind the Golden Flashes, slipping two spots to No. 16. The Zips haven't played in two weeks, and have looked sloppy so far, but they still possess a ton of potential and have a lot of expectations riding on them. Ohio jumps into the poll this week at No. 18, cracking the Top 25 for the first time this season. The 'Cats keep on winning and netted a pair of strong wins this week beating Mercer and Evansville. Eastern Michigan just missed the cut, falling one vote shy of coming in at No. 25. The Eagles lost to Kentucky this past week. It's the only loss on EMU's record. Western Michigan also received some votes this week, but remain a long way out of the Top 25.
