REPORTS: Akron Assistant Head Coach Alan Arrington Passes Away Following Car Accident

Akron Athletics

Sad news out of Akron today as the Zips' offensive line coach has reportedly passed away due to injuries suffered from a car accident at the age of 44.

While the Ohio Bobcats are participating in the Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl, their MAC East brethren have received some very sad news concerning their football team.  Offensive line and assistant head coach Alan Arrington has reportedly passed away from injuries sustained from a car accident, presumably today with the adverse weather outside.

Apparently first reported by FootballScoop, it is rocking the football world, and really hitting home here in the MAC.

We will continue to monitor this story and provide updates as they come in.  Hustle Belt sends their thoughts and prayers out to the Akron community at this time.
