Debby Wong-USA TODAY Sports

While Eric Fisher is grabbing the spotlight, there are several MAC players to keep an eye out for this weekend during the 2013 NFL Draft, including a pair of quarterbacks.

With the NFL Draft mere hours away from starting, it's time to examine what former Mid-American Players are likely to hear their names called this weekend. Without further await let's delve right into it. Eric Fisher - left tackle - CMU

MAC Players in the 2013 NFL Draft
Player: School: Position: Experts take: Proj. Rd.:
Eric Fisher CMU OT Widely considered one of the best talents in this years Draft, Fisher has made a late push towards being the No. 1 overall pick. It was announced earlier Thursday by many sources that the Chiefs have decided to take him first overall, but even if he doesn't go to KC, don't expect him to slide past No. 2. 1st overall.
Brian Winters KSU OG Winters had a solid career during his four seasons at Kent State. Ranked as the fifth best offensive guard in the 2013 Draft class Winters has been linked to the Giants and Rams in recent mock drafts. 3rd round.
Zac Dysert Miami QB The four-year RedHawks starter put up impressive numbers during his time in Oxford, Ohio, and is impressing teams leading up to the draft. Projected as a mid-late round draft pick, some mocks have him going to either the Raiders (4th rd.) or Buccaneers (5th). 4th or 5th round.
Chris Jones BGSU DT An absolute menace in the MAC on the defensive line during his four years at Bowling Green, Jones racked up 12.5 sacks in his senior season. A projected late round draft pick, he likely won't have him name called until Saturday but has been linked. 6th or 7th round.
Alex Carder WMU QB Carder wasn't invited to the Combine but put up good numbers during his time at WMU where he attracted some attention from NFL scouts. While it's more likely he'll be signed as a undrafted free agent, some teams have been linked to possibly taking him in the final round. 7th round or undrafted FA.
Eric Herman Ohio OG Herman was a four-year starter for the Bobcats and wowed scouts at the combine when he led all offensive lineman with 36 reps on the bench press. A solid player, he's been projected as a late round pick by some and an undrafted free agent by others. 7th round or undrafted FA.

The MAC isn't quite taking over the draft but with Eric Fisher likely to be the top pick, at least the tradition of Thursday night #MACtion lives on!
