Hustle Belt Online Dynasty Weekend Update:  8/24

So we've been running the online dynasty (at least the XBox version) for two weeks now and thought you'd all would like to know what's been going on. Here are some of the highlights from each of the weeks so far:

  • Week 1: BGSU beats Tulsa, WMU upsets MSU 21-20, CMU barely falls to Michigan (who has ran the table so far), NIU finally beats Iowa 28-24, and Miami defeats Marshall.
  • Week 2: EMU shocks Penn State 36-14, Miami downs Kentucky 28-21, Kent St beats BGSU 38-31, Buffalo downs Baylor 45-28.
  • Week 3: WMU defeats a weakened Northwestern team, EMU continues to stun (Rutgers), CMU sneaks by UNLV, BGSU falls to Indiana
  • Week 4: WMU sneaks by Iowa 38-35, Toledo crushes CMU 45-10, EMU slams Ball State 63-21, UMass barely falls to Vanderbilt trying to go for the win in OT 17-16, #14 NIU falls to FCS Midwest (then their coach leaves, is promptly replaced by new player).
  • Week 5: NIU defeats Purdue 28-24, WMU defeats Kent State, Miami sneaks by Illinois 21-17, BGSU beat Akron, Ball State over Toledo in OT 28-21, CMU over NC State 20-7, UConn beats Buffalo
  • Week 6: Buffalo crushes EMU (EMU coach quits but rejoins after crying [its my brother so I can say what I want]), UMass beats BGSU (BGSU coach quits, is promptly replaced), Ohio beats Akron, Virginia beats Ball St, CMU beats Miami , Toledo crushes WMU 47-0, NIU beats Kent State
  • Week 7: Mississippi St beats BGSU, EMU defeats Army, Ball State sneaks by Kent State (Kent St's coach is kicked due to inactivity), Buffalo soundly beats WMU, UMass beats Miami 31-21, Ohio beats CMU 27-17, NIU beats Akron.
  • Week 8: Miami shuts out Akron, WMU outshoots Ball State, NIU beats CMU, Buffalo beats UMass for the top of the MAC East, Toledo beat Navy, EMU holds on vs Ohio.

So here are the current standings:

Buffalo 5-2 (3-0) NIU 6-1 (3-0)
Ohio 5-2 (2-1) EMU 6-1 (2-1)
UMass 3-4 (2-1) Toledo 4-3 (2-1)
Miami 4-3 (1-2) WMU 6-2 (2-2)
BGSU 3-4 (1-2) Ball State 5-3 (2-2)
Kent St 1-7 (1-3) CMU 4-4 (1-3)
Akron 1-7 (0-4)

We do need a coach on the X-Box side. However, you won't go bowling, as it is either Kent State or Akron. Sorry.

As for statistics, the MAC has a strong showing there too! Keith Wenning, Tyler VanTubbergen, and Tyler Benz are 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively in the nation for throwing yards. Edwards and Lynch are 4th and 5th in the nation for rushing and Daniel Braverman and Russell from EMU are 1st and 2nd in receiving. As for tackles, well the MAC has 4 of the top 5 spots with Justin Currie leading the way. Mick Dubose and Ingle from BSU are tied for 1st in sacks with 7.

As for the Heisman, both Jordan Lynch and Tyler Benz are fighting it out at the top for the award.

Stay tuned as next weekend should see the MAC picture almost fully formed.
