A high powered first quarter settled down into a quiet second, and a Jeremiah Detmer field goal has given Toledo a 16-14 lead.
True freshman QB Logan Woodside hasn't had opportunity to do much through the air, as the offense has been put on the shouldersof David Fluellen. #22 has answered the call, carrying 14 times for 131 yards and the 2 first quarter scores. For his part, Woodside is 5/11 for 13 yards, opting for lots of passes to the sidelines.
The Rockets defense seems to have figured out how to slow up the Eagles, allowing that high-flying offense to get only 42 yards in the second half, and forcing a fumble and a pick.
Detmer's 23 yard field goal with 11 minutes to go was his 23rd straight field goal, tying a Rockets record (Alex Steigerwald). Unfortunately, a field goal attempt at the end of the half would not fly true, ending that streak.
