Halftime at Kelly-Shorts Stadium has the Toledo Rockets up on the Central Michigan Chippewas 21-14.
It started as a duel of freshman quarterbacks, with redshirt Cooper Rush under center for CMU, and true frosh Logan Woodside for Toledo. Rush has looked much, much better, throwing 162 yards on 10/18 and a touchdown. Woodside hadn't made any real mistakes but multiple drops by his receivers have kept the team from moving the ball. In the second quarter, Woodside took a seat as senior QB Terrance Owens came in, sprained knee and all, and immediately led the team on a 9 play, 96 yard drive, capped off by a beautiful 1 handed TD grab by Alonzo Russell.
The difference in the game has been turnovers: the Rockets have a pick by Chase Murdock, and a fumble recovery for a score by Junior Sylvestre.
