Could Some Ohio Assistants Be Heading To Vanderbilt?

+

Vanderbilt announced Friday the hiring of Stanford defensive coordinator Derek Mason as its new head football coach, replacing James Franklin who left for Penn State.

Before taking over the Cardinal defense in 2011, Mason spent two seasons in Athens, Ohio as a member of Frank Solich's early Ohio staff, where he worked with several members of Solich's current staff.

It appears, via this tweet sent by Ohio quarterback Tyler Tettleton that Gerry Gdowski, Ohio's current QB coach and assistant OC, Kevin Lightner, Ohio's current offensive line coach, and Jason Grooms, Ohio director of football operations are heading to Nashville with Mason.
