In a tournament that had been straight chalk through the first seven games, the first upset proved to be one hell of one. The No. 6 Eastern Michigan Eagles knocked off No. 3 Buffalo in the Quarterfinals of the 2014 MAC Tournament in Cleveland Thursday night, 69-64.
The Eagles held an early lead thanks to their smothering defense before eventually giving way to Buffalo. The Bulls led for the majority of the second half, but EMU's defense proved too much to overcome and the Eagles held on to pull off the upset. With the win EMU moves on to the semifinals and will face No. 2 Toledo Friday night at The Q.
