The Way To Early BOLD, "Why BGSU Will Beat Wisconsin" Prediction That No One Has Talked About

Yes, I am in fact ecstatic about MACtion being days away to where crazy thoughts are surfacing through my mind and the endless possibilities of what my senior year can hold for me. In the majority of peoples minds BG is one of the top 5 non P5 schools that have a shot to interrupt the college system. Doing so would mean to beat the like of not one but two B1G ten schools. Yes there are other hard games BG will have to face with the likes of Indiana (who killed BG last year), Toledo (won the past 4 years), WKU and rising Akron and Ohio (Away Games). As stated this is a BOLD prediction and assuming BG wins the rest of the games, Wisconsin stands out to be the toughest road block in the Falcons quest to be undefeated. Although I do believe that after this first season with Babers the Falcons should not have much trouble to go undefeated in 2015

Falcons THRIVE as underdogs

Camp Randall Stadium- Seating over 80,000 corn fed humans in Wisconsin and pulling out a victory is going to be extremely difficult but possible for the Falcons. But history the past few years has sided with BG recently. Lets start by looking at 2 years ago when the Falcon's went into gator country. It was opening home game for University of Florida and the heavy underdogs of BG. If you were lucky enough to witness it BG had a great chance to win that game and could of. This team was led by Matt Shiltz who is not even close to Johnson skill wise but yet BG stayed close the whole game until we ultimately collapsed because of our terrible kicker at the time named Klein. Klein who correct me if I'm wrong missed a total of 3 game changing field goals(3 chip shots) that were bad, and I mean really bad close misses that essential gave UF the edge in the closing minutes of the game. That same UF team finished the season being ranked #3 in the nation before bowl games were released. BG finished 8-5 that year.

Next lets look at the following year when BG played Mississippi State. Granted Mississippi State was not nearly as good as the UF team, it was their alumni weekend and the stands were full. Everyone expected this to be a easy win for Mississippi State outside the MAC. Im not going to talk about how physical it was and how those refs were looking the other way when the falcons had the ball. Regardless, BG was down by 1 point in the final minute of the game inside Mississippi States half. It was 4th and 10, a first down would put them in field goal range. Johnson scrambled to the right and threw a bullet right to Burbrink for a first down and it went right threw Burbrink's hands and hit him in his face. I remember the announcers even talking about feeling bad for him and how he will never forget that drop because it could of won us the game.

Coaching

Dave Clawson did great things for BG and I love him for turning the program around but he was a defensive minded coach. For those of you that don't know Clawson was hired from the University of Tennessee after being fired as their OC for posting the WORST recorded offensive season ever in the history of UT football. BG had 2 issues when Clawson left. Turnovers were never seen on defense, and our receiving corps lacked depth last season. Keep in mind Gallon got injured, Burbrink dropped a LOT of passes and Moore barely played. I remember being extremely upset with Clawson after seeing Moore put up astronomical number against EMU and then not playing at all against Buffalo the very next game.

All preseason long the media has been talking about how the defense is creating a lot of turnovers and the offense and the receiving corps has extreme depth. If the Falcons continue to mold well together and figure out this new offense then I expect them to be way more dangerous underdogs going into Wisconsin. Assuming that the BG masters the majority of Babers system by week 4 heading into Wisconsin. BG's defense is going to be extremely underrated and I will not be shocked if it is better than last years defense.

In all, BG can win I have faith as Baber's stated, "If David could beat Goliath with a sling shot and a stone. We can beat anybody".
