UPDATE (9/4/15 12:37 a.m.): Throw away the stats, throw away the score. Nobody wins, nobody loses. Will the two meet up again to actually play it out? Who knows?

The season-opening matchup between the Toledo Rockets and Stony Brook Seawolves comes to a close as the referees called and suspended the play of game at 12:13 a.m.
After three hours worth of delays due to lightning, the two finally resumed play in the second quarter. A pair of scores from Damion-Jones Moore as well as a pair of interceptions from Chaz Whitaker helped put the Rockets ahead 16-7 at the half.
Just as the third quarter was about to begin, the teams had to go back to the locker rooms for another delay.
A 7:00 p.m. start, the game was suspended due to inclement weather. There are no plans to resume play and this one may or may not go down as something official. For now, teams are calling to petition to have this game be finished and played out in the future.
Jones-Moore's two touchdowns would have made for his second-straight game a pair of scores, scoring twice the the Rockets win over Arkansas State in the GoDaddy Bowl. Quarterback Phillip Ely Jameson Vest knocked in his first career field goal before the game went to its initial delay at 7:51 p.m.
Again, nothing is official right now. Everything is just really, really wet.
