Rio Grande Vipers Win G-League

I know I am over a week late in posting this. Why I care about them winning is because former EMU player Tim Bond (played for EMU 2015-2018) is on the team. Good to see him having a successful career after college! https://twitter.com/itsbout_tim?lang=en

* In the WNY market the game had more than *double* the ratings of the OSU / Purdue game... * The only things rated higher in Buffalo on Saturday was the local and national news. * It did better than shows on during weeknight primetime in WNY

GoFundMe for The Diesel Memorial Project

+

On November 13, 2013, Diesel, NIU’s live Huskie mascot, brought a smile to college football fans across the country when he gave a spirited "High Five" to celebrate a Huskie touchdown! Television broadcasters captured the magical moment and broadcast it to a delighted nationwide television audience. Later ESPN’s Sportscenter also highlighted the moment. It was a genuine heart-warming display of Huskie spirit that captured the hearts of college football fans from coast to coast. Diesel is no longer with us, but he will not be forgotten by Huskie football fans. To honor Diesel, his owner and handler Tom Bonnevier and to honor all past, current and future Huskie mascots, the Diesel Memorial Project has been established. The Project has a goal of raising funds to pay for the sculpting of a bronze memorial statue of Diesel in his famous "High Five" pose. The statue commemorates that event and celebrates the unique association with Huskie football of Diesel and other past, current and future mascots. The statue will be sculpted by renowned sculptor Renee Bemis. An agreement has been reached with the NIU Foundation to place the sculpture in a prominent place outside Huskie Stadium.

55 MAC football players will receive graduate patches this season

2

Changes are going to be made to the jerseys of the 55 Mid-American Conference players who hold an undergraduate degree. The group will have a "MAC Graduate Patch" sewn on the right shoulder this season, according to press release sent by the conference Tuesday. Every school has at least one player already graduated, with Toledo leading the way with 13. Kent State and Northern Illinois are second and third with 10 and seven, respectively. Ball State, Ohio and Western Michigan each have one. Four quarterbacks made the list, including Central Michigan's Shane Morris, who transferred this offseason from Michigan. Logan Woodside of the Rockets is one of 36 players to be named to the 2017 College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) preseason watch list for National Performer of the Year, as well as the only one from the MAC. Toledo's graduate players are tied for fourth most in the country.
