WMU finally loses, falls to #3 Michigan 73-41

Well it was a good run while it lasted, but #3 Michigan was too much for the young, under-matched Broncos to handle

Western Michigan shot 36% in the 1st half, including a measly 1-9 (11%) from 3, en route to a 35-21 deficit. They also turned the ball over 13 times. Darius Paul led the Broncos with 8 pts, followed by Nate Hutcheson with 6. Shayne Whittington, who picked up 2 fouls in the first 2 minutes, still managed 6 rebounds in the half. Michigan was led by Trey Burke (10 pts), with Tim Hardaway Jr and Jordan Morgan (6 pts each) pitching in as well.

In the second half, it was all Michigan. WMU only shot 21.7% from the field, and went a little better from 3, going 1-8. Michigan on the other hand hit 50% again including 5-11 from beyond the arc. Burke finished with 20. The bright spot for the Broncos? They weren't out-rebounded by much, and Darius Paul finished with a double-double (10 pts, 10 rebounds) as a freshman against a very athletic team.
