This is not on par with that crazy Dayton victory last year, but winning by 20 on the road against a Horizon League team — admittedly 2-5 — was pretty impressive for a UB team that needed something, anything to break their way. And that man's name is Javon McCrea, who had a game we were all waiting for: 31 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks. God, it just felt good to type. McCrea did have seven turnovers, and that's the only thing UB did wrong: turn it over. They out-rebounded the Panthers 46-19 and Auraum Nuiriankh was also a reason for that: he had 13 points and 15 rebounds.
It was only their second D1 win of the season, and both have been legitimate W's on the road: this and Evansville.
Can they turn this into something? Buffalo will find out as they improve to 3-7 and host cross-town rivals Niagara on Saturday.
