Bowling Green heads on the road in hopes of ending its three game slide in what should be a good matchup for the Falcons. Presbyterian is 1-5 on the season having ran through a real gauntlet of a schedule to start the season. The Blue Hose have lost big in all of their losses this year, but do feature a dangerous duo in shooting guard Jordan Downing and center William Truss. Dowing is leading the team with 18.8 points per game, and is adding five rebounds and 2.7 assists every night. Truss is off to a fantastic start and is averaging 10 and 10.
Buffalo looks to notch its first win against a D-I opponent in the Bobby Hurley-era at home tonight as the Bulls welcome Robert Morris to town. It won't be easy for Buffalo as Bobby Mo is one of the better teams in the Northeast Conference and features a fantastic scorer in senior guard Karvel Anderson. You may have heard of him. He's averaging just over 18 points a contest. What does look to play into Buffalo's favor is that Javon McCrea should be able to dominate the paint relatively unchallenged. This would be a huge win for the Bulls if they can get it.
WMU welcomes Oakland to town for what originally looked to be a good matchup. But the Grizzlies are now 0-6 on the season, due in large part to the shakeup that came from the arrests of Duke Mondy and Dante Williams. Both have since been reinstated and are with the team, but Mondy has yet to play, and with the way WMU has been playing this season (specifically Shayne Whittington) it's unlikely Oakland gets its first win here.
Mercer and Ohio should be a good one to watch tonight, and I'm not just saying that because I'm an Ohio fan. The Bears are currently second in the Atlantic Sun behind Dunk City, and are off to a great start. After a sloppy win over D-III Heidelberg this will be another solid test for this new-look 'Cats squad. Maurice Ndour has looked less stellar over the past few games and Stevie Taylor has cooled off as well. Meanwhile the Bears dominate the paint and it could be a rough night for Ohio seeing as it still hasn't found a lot of success in the rebounding game.
CMU heads down south to take on Texas A&M, no not that one, the one in Corpus Christi. The Chippewas haven't really shown us much this season, despite being 3-3 on the season, and against the Islanders, it's unlikely to change seeing as they're not a power of any kind. This rather weak non-conference schedule (Bradley and Pepperdine excluded) could really backfire on CMU down the stretch.
The lone women's game of the night features the 1-3 RedHawks playing host to a very good Duquesne team. The Dukes have already pummeled a pair of MAC teams in Kent State and Buffalo, and their only losses have come against DePaul and Green Bay. Oh, and they're coming off of an 83-35 win over Morehead State, so yeah, this one could get ugly for the Robertson sisters and company.
