The Ball State coaching staff are knee deep into the season, but are still hard at work trying to piece together a top notch 2015 recruiting class. With everything on their plate, the Cardinals staff have still found the time to keep a close eye on underclassmen from all around the Midwest.
On Saturday, Ball State didn't just have Western Michigan in town, but also quite a few recruits, including 2016 offensive lineman Nate Brock, of Olentangy Liberty High School (OH).
"My recent visit to Ball State, and the trip was awesome. I really loved the campus, along with the facilities." Said, Brock, who also had the opportunity to chat with the Cardinal coaching staff during his trip to the Muncie, Indiana campus.
"I met pretty much their entire staff, and I'm planning to head there again soon. He stated to Hustle Belt. "They basically said they liked my film, and to keep working it felt like there was a good interest level overall though."
This weekend, Nate, the high school teammate of 2015 Ohio commit Jake Hale, will be one of the recruits on hand for Bobcats match up against the Akron Zips.
"I'm really excited about OU this weekend, because I've heard great things about it, and it's also somewhat close to home. I could also potentially play with a good friend. If I received an offer I'd be ecstatic to be honest, but at the same time I still think it's best to look at all my options. As for Jake, I'm good friend with him , and he hasn't talked about OU too much, but we've talked briefly about it."
Later this month, the 6-foot-4 265-pound lineman will once again get a chance to check out a Mid-American Conference program up close and personal as he plans to attend the Toledo game against UMass on the 25th.
The Cardinals, Bobcats, and Rockets are all trying to get to know Nate a little better before dishing out a scholarship offer, but he's already well aware of the quality style of ball they, and the other programs in the MAC put on the field every week.
"When I think of the MAC, I think of toughness, and steady improvement. The MAC is getting more competitive every year with other conferences, especially the Big Ten, and that's really good."
