Star running back Branden Oliver can't play in the game? No big deal, he's got a backup.
Highlights from the first quarter: Buffalo caught the UConn defense off guard first with a terrific 4th and 5 screen pass to Devin Campbell for a 30-yard gain, followed by Brandon Murie's first career touchdown. Following that score, UB caught the UConn special teams napping by virtue of an onside kick, recovered by Derek Brim.
Remember, UConn lost to Western Michigan last week. They don't want to pull an "Indiana" by losing to two MAC schools in a row. The Huskies do lead in time of possession, total yards and first downs — but they did that against WMU too.
