Kyle Pohl has 193 passing yards and a TD, Jawon Chisholm has 56 yards and the score, and the Akron Zips have the Toledo Rockets reeling after the first 30 minutes, taking a 17-10 lead into the locker room.
The Zips have outgained the Rockets offensively 274 to 136, and much of that lands in the lap of Terrance Owens: the Toledo QB has thrown for 7/15 for 60 yards and a score early in the game to Dwight Macon. Without David Fluellen or Damion Jones-Moore, Kareem Hunt has been the sole rusher, he's carried the ball 63 yards on 13 touches.
Akron took the lead on their final drive of the half, a drive that started back on their 10 yard line, and was kept alive by a run on a fake punt that went 16 yards. Pohl would connect with L.T Smith, Fransohn Bickley, and Zach D'Orazio to get down the field, and Chisholm would cap it off on a 2 yarder to put the Zips up by 7.
