It was close throughout, at least. Butler led by seven at halftime, but Ball State battled back to tie it with a few minutes remaining. Alas, it was not to be. Brandy Woody led all Cardinals with 17 points and freshman Nathalie Fontaine scored 13 points to go with nine rebounds.
Brady Sallee's Cardinals are still seeking their first win. They're 0-2 and will play Marshall on Saturday.
