Central Michigan Releases Non-Conference Basketball Schedule

A few steps down on the list of breaking news today, Central Michigan released the non-conference portion of their men's basketball schedule. New Head Coach Keno Davis' first game will be at Iowa, where his father Tom coached for 13 years. The Chips also face other Big Tenners Michigan and Nebraska. Other notable contests include the Utah Thanksgiving Tournament and the Sun Bowl Invitational in El Paso. Lastly, the Chips scheduled an exhibition on January 3 against Michigan-Dearborn. Um, what? That's a new one.

West Virginia big Pat Forsythe Transferring to Akron

According to NBC Sports and numerous other sources, West Virginia redshirt freshman Forward Pat Forsythe will be the newest member of the Akron Zips men's basketball team. Forsythe, who hails from Brunswick, Ohio, is reportedly transferring to be closer to home. He may be able to obtain a hardship waiver to play right away because of his father's apparent health issues. If he can play this year, the Zips would have essentially two seven footers (Forsythe is 6'11') at their disposal. Forsythe averaged two points in seven games as a Mountaineer.

Based on total output, Kent State and Western Michigan are poised to bring the most players and points back for next year. On the other side, MAC Tournament champion Akron lost a lot of seniors.
