From the Toledo Rockets to the NFL, current Miami Dolphins wide receiver, Kenny Stafford is extremely confident in his alma mater's chances to win the MAC in 2013.

Despite going undrafted in 2012, former Toledo Rockets wide receiver, Kenny Stafford has found his way into the NFL. After spending camp with the Atlanta Falcons in 2012, to time in the Arena and Canadian Football Leagues, Stafford has now found a home in Miami as a member of the Miami Dolphins.

Stafford has been busy this summer trying to make the Dolphins' 53-man roster, but he's still found time to keep tabs on his old team. From 2008 to 2011, Stafford was a reliable wide receiver on the Rockets' football team, but never got a chance to be a MAC Champion. This season, Stafford expects a MAC Championship to be brought back to Toledo.

"I wouldn't say the season is a bust if they don't win the MAC," said Stafford, "but I know the expectations are to win the MAC."

This season, the Rockets are as loaded at wide receiver as they ever have been. Most notably, senior Bernard Reedy returns following a junior season in which he totaled 88 receptions and 1,105 yards.

"(Bernard) Reedy is a playmaker. He makes a lot of things happen with the ball in his hands," said Stafford, who played with Reedy for two seasons. "I expect him to improve from a year ago."

Aside from Reedy, Toledo returns two other senior stars in quarterback Terrance Owens and running back David Fluellen.

"I expect all of them to have great senior seasons. They have been playing at a high level since they stepped on campus," he said. "They know how to win and how to become MAC champs. The offense is returning a lot (of players)...that have played a lot of football. I'm just hoping we get over the hump and bring a MAC title back to Toledo."

Stafford hopes to see a Toledo football game in 2013, but with the time and dedication Stafford is putting into camp and training to make an NFL roster, time may be limited to watch his Rockets in person.

"Depending on if I make the Miami roster, I'd love to make it to a (Toledo) game," he said. "Control what you can control as my wide receivers coach, Jason Candle, told me. I'm just excited to be back playing football."

Thus far, Stafford has avoided cuts but there are still a couple of weeks left to survive. "I'm worried about the next practice not making the 53 (man roster), but you have to take it day by day."
