Pardon the nerdy references, but you kind of expected this.
7 p.m. Furman at Kent State — These two have never played, but you can imagine. The perhaps-improved Southern Conference foes are an early 2-0 against weak competition and bring back everybody from last year. Hey, it's the SoCon version of Ball State! However, Justin Greene is elevating his game from last year, and KSU is off to a funky fresh 3-1 start of their own.
7 p.m. Illinois-Chicago at Toledo — This is one I'll be attending. As some of you know, it's been a tradition with my father and I to attend UT basketball games ever since the early 90s. But yes, I'm a BG fan! Unless they're actually playing the Falcons, let Toledo have their fun in the sun. Although cloudy forecasts are scheduled for probably the next two years in Savage Arena, the Rockets host a subregional of the "2K Sports Classic Benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer," so they have games all weekend. I don't know how any team can compete against UIC, when their top player is a guy named Robo Kreps.
I'll be tweeting updates from tonight's game, 90 percent of which will likely be about Robo Kreps. Just a fair warning.
