Akron: Your NCAA Soccer Champions

Pixellated tears of joy. Kangaroos make excellent soccer players.

Previously in life, you had to play a video game and set the game to easy for a MAC team to win a national title. But for the first time in the Video Game Era, this PhotoShop can be done sans irony. The Zips beat Louisville 1-0 in the College Cup final on Sunday, and they're awful special people.

Scott Caldwell had the lone goal, which was really just a pinball that couldn't break free of the box, and he slammed it home on the second try. That's your highlight. There might be others, if you're a zealous soccer fan. But for this to be the MAC's first national championship in 45 years, that's pretty much all you need to remember.

Way to go, gentlemen. You done made Akron and the 18 other MAC schools — full and partial membership — awful proud.
