Previous Evening MAC Review: Road Bumps

Last night in MACsketball:

Morehead State 76, Kent State 59 — An insanely good night for sophomore Randal Holt, who had a career-best 21 points — all threes — in a spot start. Wasted. WASTED. Morehead was thirsty for a victory, especially after losing their last two in overtime, but after trying to crawl back into the game, coming within five, the Flashes couldn't hit a basket in the final 6:30 and let the Eagles finish on a 13-1 run. Justin Greene couldn't get going, floundering with foul trouble and playing 24 minutes to the tune of two points. Rodriquez Sherman contributed well with 15 points and six assists. That's now 20 straight wins for Morehead (out of the Ohio Valley Conference) at home, with their last loss coming to last year on November 29 against ... these same Golden Flashes. Well, not these Flashes. The other team played better, obviously. Kent State's next game: Friday, 12/31 vs. James Madison

Valparaiso 69, Ball State 52 — This isn't the way to get noticed in Indiana basketball. The Cardinals, after hanging tough for the first-half-of-the-first-half, saw the Crusaders bolt to a 12-point halftime lead, and no rallying cry stuck with BSU. Jarrod Jones was the only double-digit scorer for Ball State with 18 points and seven rebounds. Basically the defense struggled to get in Valpo's fat face, as they shot 52 percent from the field. Get in their face. That's how basketball works, right? Ball State's next game: Friday, 12/31 vs. North Carolina A&T

Today's one MAC game:
