Well, that's kind of nice for EMU, although the circumstances could be kinder.
The Alabama fullback and Northwest Ohio native decided to come back to the area and play for Eastern Michigan next year. He redshirted in '09, did not play in the Tide's first two games and after talking it over with coaches and family members, decided that it'd be best for him personally to redirect his football career closer to home. And that's the only reason, in the year 2010, that one would go from the No. 1 team to No. 120. (Another reason which I'd accept: the eventual realization that there are actually no elephants in Alabama.)
So keep an eye out for Mike Marrow on future EMU teams. He's a large dude: 6-foot-2, 235-pounds. They call him a fullback, but MIke Alstott was also a fullback. He'll run the ball. He was a three-star recruit for Nick Saban, which is basically longhand for "he was signed by Alabama." Basically everyone's a three-star guy for the Tide. By comparison, EMU average about two or three such signee a year.
So he'll be a large impact player for starting in '11, or '12, or whenever the heck he's eligible. Don't look to me to sift through the convoluted transfer process.
