MAC Women's Basketball Review: Knockdown

Hey, no men's games. Friday night is Ladies' Night.

Missouri-Kansas City 70, EMU 68 (OT) — I didn't see the play all too well, but the radio announcers said that Tavelyn James was dragged down by her jersey on the final play of overtime, sealing the victory for the Kangaroos. Because of this, James finished with 19 points on a disparate 22 shots, many of them from the 3-point line, many of them missing. Natachia Watkins added 18 points as the Eagles lost their second straight overtime game, the previous one being in a slightly larger game: Michigan State.

BGSU 72, Austin Peay 38 — Fly is clearly not open. It wasn't doubling up the Lady Govs but it very well could've been as the real story here is not their score total (although Alexis Rogers contributed 19 points), but their defense. This is a good sign. They kept APSU to a 35.7 eFG% and had 16 steals

Youngstown State 55, OHIO 47 — Porsha Harris had 11 points and 10 rebounds while Tenishia Benson had her first nice game in a while with 14 points. But the Bobcats have now lost four straight, searching for any type of momentum as they head into the final games of the year. They have only hit the 60-point total once in this losing streak (hitting exactly 60)

Butler 55, Ball State 43 — The Lady Bulldogs are not that strong of a team, but don't tell BSU that. The Cards' high scorer was Shelbie Justice with nine points as a 31.2 eFG% didn't help them get any sort of run going on Butler.
