Buffalo 81, Toledo 58: Delaying the Inevitable

(box) — No amount of snow was going to change this outcome, unless Byron Mulkey and Zach Filzen were stuck out in the cold all night, caught hypothermia, and had Mitchell Watt swat all the icicles off every building on campus. The game that was pushed back from Wednesday evening to Thursday afternoon was a 23-point drubbing that was probably best gotten out of the way for the Rockets. Maybe they oughta stick to bowling.

The Bulls took mean advantage of outside shooting and inside presence, shooting 59.6% and also outrebounding UT 31-15. They swatted away seven shots, and their only downfall was turnovers, which was equal to Toledo's count (and the Rockets had 11 steals). Malcolm Griffin's game was way off, and everyone else was pretty inconsistent, although hustleforward Hayden Humes took and made a rare 3-point shot. If that's within his range, then that can only help stretch the opposing defense down the road.

Buffalo is now at 6-2, tied with BG for first place, and Toledo drops to 1-7. No games until Saturday. I wish there was something I could do about this.
