With Kent State's home victory over Akron and Miami's thumping of OHIO, the multi-tentacled Cthulhu is down to eight possible scenarios. WIth that, we also have five no-foolin' locked seeds:
Kent State wins the MAC East, the MAC regular season championship outright, and is the No. 1 seed.
Miami wins a first-round bye and the No. 3 seed.
Northern Illinois is the No. 10 seed.
Eastern Michigan is the No. 11 seed.
Toledo is the No. 12 seed.
So what about the other seven?
• Western Michigan wins the MAC West and the No. 2 seed with a win over Central Michigan OR a Ball State loss. Otherwise they are the No. 4 seed.
• Ball State earns a first-round bye and a share of the MAC West with a win over Northern Illinois. If they win AND Western Michigan loses, they are the No. 2 seed; otherwise they are the No. 4 seed. If Ball State loses, they are the No. 6 seed.
• OHIO's regular season is over. They are the No. 4 seed and earn a first-round bye with a Ball State loss to Northern Illinois. Otherwise they are the No. 5 seed.
• Akron's regular season is over. They are the No. 5 seed with a Ball State loss to Northern Illinois. Otherwise they are the No. 6 seed.
• Buffalo wins the No. 7 seed with a win at Bowling Green. They are the No. 8 seed with a loss AND a Central Michigan loss. They are the No. 9 seed with a loss AND a Central Michigan win.'
• Bowling Green wins the No. 7 seed with a win over Buffalo. Otherwise they are the No. 9 seed.
• Central Michigan wins the No. 8 seed with a win over Western Michigan AND a Bowling Green loss to Buffalo. Otherwise they are the No. 9 seed.
