Belt Loops: BGSU Grad Mike Emrick Is Headed To The Hall

Mike Emrick got his start at BGSU.
Mike Emrick got his start at BGSU.

Some MAC links to get you going this morning:

• BGSU alum Mike Emrick is one of five people to be enshrined in the US Hockey Hall of Fame. "Doc" made his living calling New Jersey Devils games, but he earned his Ph.D in broadcasting at Bowling Green in 1976. [Star-Ledger]

• For whatever reason, Buffalo Bulls-cum-Bills safety Domonic Cook "collapsed" after a conditioning session. He says he's fine, as does head coach Chan Gailey. Might want to keep an eye on him, just in case. [Buffalo Rumblings]

• A hard look at the CMU defensive line. Sean Murnane is the big loss on the line, but fortunately the only loss. [The Chip Report]

Tom Nader writes a feature story on former Bowling Green quarterback Brian McClure, who now works for the city of Mentor, Ohio. [Ravenna Record-Courier]

• Akron soccer will play at least two non-conference games on national television twice this year. At home they'll play New Mexico on September 16, and they travel to UC Santa Barbara on October 5. Both games are on FOX Soccer. I say "at least two" because, well, maybe they make the title game again. [MAC-Sports.com]

• Miami QB Austin Boucher gained weight, but don't worry. It's all muscle. [Oxford Press]
