Some Tuesday-flavored MAC links:

• He's supposed to be the best quarterback in the MAC, but nobody keeps track of supposed-tos. If you're going to have the worst day in your football career, you might not want to have it against Wisconsin, because mistakes will be amplified. Chandler Harnish is not so happy with just getting 7 points on the board in Soldier Field. (But he certainly looked like a Bears quarterback doing so.)

Still I maintain that the defense is the big red flag. The offense had an off day against a great team. We've yet to see the Huskies defense really bind the legs of the opposition. [Huskiewire]

• No, we're still not sure why Steve Addazio decided to break the mojo of Mike Gerardi by replacing him with Chester Stewart. It gave the offense a different look but it didn't help. But did this move really "doom" Temple's chances of beating Penn State? They had a chance at the end and little on offense was working. Handoffs to Bernard Pierce would've worked the same way. • Week 3 of the Detmer Award voting is up, and thanks to some help from yours truly Jordan White was the top MAC vote-getter with 11 points, fourth behind Kellen Moore, Ronnie Hillman and Case Keenum. Good company. The panel also threw some love toward Tyler Tettleton, Alex Carder and one soul put Matt Schilz on the list too. For three turnovers. [Saturday Blitz]

• Thanks to a school-best 12-0 start, Bowling Green volleyball is now ranked 40th in the country. NIU stands pat at tied for 42nd. [NCAA.com]
