Today's MAC Basketball Games: The Road To 8-8

Overly extremely quick previews of the six MACsketball games today, complete with free links to their video feeds:

2 p.m. — Central Michigan (2-2) at Western Michigan (2-2) (MAC-Sports Live Stream)

Last time out WMU suffered a narrow overtime loss to EMU, so Central's going to be a much tougher opponent than that. However the Broncos have never lost at home all year so why are any of us worried? Why even bother saying Trey Zeigler needs to continually make good decisions and not try to win the game on his own?

2 p.m. — Miami (1-3) at OHIO (2-2) (MAC-Sports Live Stream)

It's Gary Trent Day in Athens, meaning they're going to honor his No. 20 jersey (but not retire it). The active No. 20, Ricardo Johnson, won't be too much of a factor — although if he is, we know why. It's not Miami's only chance, but if Brian Sullivan can start nailing threes like he's progressively been doing more of lately, the RedHawks have a chance at an upset.

2 p.m. — Toledo (1-3) at Eastern Michigan (3-1) (MAC-Sports Live Stream)

Are you ready for a world where EMU is 4-1? Not only are they favored, but they've taken five straight against the hapless Rockets who can't win one Rian Pearson shots alone, as wonderful of a new leader he's been this year.

4 p.m. — Buffalo (2-2) at BGSU (2-2) (MAC-Sports Live Stream)

This one will be ugly. A lot of BG games happen to be that way but both teams will rely on their frontcourt. Javon McCrea and Mitchell Watt for the Bulls, A'uston Calhoun and Cameron Black for the Falcons. If it's an even game on that front, whoever's guards can knock down shots might prove to be the difference.

6 p.m. — Kent State (2-2) at Akron (3-1) (SportsTime Ohio) (MAC-Sports Live Stream)

Probably the one you want to watch if you had to pick one. Akron sold this game out in rather quick fashion. Because this is a road game you have to favor the Zips; however it's hard to jump off the Kent State Momentum Train just yet. They have some of the best players at every position and they're the most experienced team that accomplished something last year.

8 p.m. — Ball State (3-1) at Northern Illinois (1-3) (MAC-Sports Live Stream)

And yes, it's a road game. But Jarrod Jones and company can't possibly let NIU charge away with another victory ... can they?
