Bernard Reedy Makes Good, Toledo Takes the Lead 31-28 After Three

Whatever demons were in Bernard Reedy's head got the hell out at halftime. Reedy returned a punt 66 yards for a touchdown, and then caught a crucial pass on a scoring drive that has turned a 4 point Toledo defect into a 31-28 point lead.

Reedy's punt return came after a Central Michigan drive had reached their own 40, only to be pushed back when Ryan Radcliff was sacked for an 8 yard loss on 3rd and 11. Richie Hogan booted the ball 34 yards, but Reedy got the blocks to get into the end zone. He had shown some shades of that in the first quarter, a big 50 yard return in the 1st quarter that led to Toledo's first points.

One drive later, with a short field, Terrance Owens hit Reedy on a 23 yard pass on 3rd and 1 from CMU's 26 to put the Rockets in the red zone. Owens would run it in the TD himself to put Toledo up by 10.

The Chippewas would answer back at the end of the quarter, with Radcliff hitting Titus Davis on a 19 yard pass to get into Toledo territory, and finishing the drive with a 3 yard pass to Courntey Williams in the corner of the end zone to stop the bleeding and bring the Chippewas to within 3.
