The Hustle Belt BlogPoll Top 25 for Week 6

Ohio moves up four spots, there's a mass exodus of B1G teams and our voter wonders where to put Notre Dame in Hustle Belt's BlogPoll Top 25 for this week.

Here's the Hustle Belt BlogPoll Top 25 for this week. Thoughts below the poll.

Last week, I presented the theory that voters were leaving Ohio at No. 25 and moving teams over and below them in an attempt to - at the very least - give the non-BCS conferences some love. I was guilty of that as well, leaving Ohio at No. 25 for a number of weeks. With close games against both Buffalo and Massachusetts, I have some serious doubts about the Bobcats. But a win's a win, so I moved them up four spots to No. 21. Another non-BCS team, Louisiana Tech, also enters our top 25 at No. 25.

With new additions comes departures, and the Big Ten Conference was the unfortunate recipient of the bloody knife as Nebraska, Purdue and Northwestern exit our top 25. Purdue and Northwestern's stay was brief - one week. That leaves Ohio State as the only Big Ten team in my top 25. The B1G has been bad for a number of years now, but not like this. This is putrid. Louisiana-Monroe may be able to win this league, and that's why Purdue was being touted as the team to beat by some pundits until Michigan browbeat the Boilers in Ross-Ade.

I'm going to be upfront about Notre Dame: I did not believe they were one of the top 15 teams in the nation in the first half of the season, and there's a part of me that still doesn't believe that to be the case. But the Irish keep winning these games, and at this point the Irish have to be taken seriously and properly ranked, if that wasn't already the case. It was tough for me to put ND ahead of Florida State, Georgia and Clemson, three teams that I believe are better than Notre Dame. But until the Irish lose, it's not fair to them to place them below that trio.
