Here is the Akron team everyone knows and loves...To make fun of. The Zips had several solid defensive stops from the beginning (even as they fumbled away a ball that resulted in a safety). Within no time in the second quarter, the game got quickly out of hand. It would with a final score of 43-3.
The Bobcats forced several turnovers, with Thad Ingol picking up an interception and also returning a fumble for a touchdown.
Ryan Boykin, Troy Mangen, Donte Foster, Daz Patterson and Ingol scored touchdowns for the Bobcats. Josiah Yazdani booted three field goals in the victory.
Akron struggled all day to put together anything offensively and were sacked more than a few times. The Zips hadn't been sacked in their last three games. Well, today Pohl saw White and Green in his face all day, as he was sacked eight times.
Tarell Basham, Brandon Purdum and Ty Bransz disrupted the Akron passing game for much of the day, as the Ohio secondary played lights out.
