UMass Basketball Stays Ranked Despite Loss to Florida State

The coaches and the AP recognized that losing to Florida State on the road isn't an unrankable offense and kept the Minutemen around for another week.

Christmas came a bit early for the UMass Minutemen as they managed to hang around both the AP Top 25 and USA TODAY/Coaches Poll despite a loss to Florida State over the weekend. The loss was UMass' first of the season and with a resume that already includes some solid wins, Derek Kellogg's crew managed to keep itself ranked and, provided they beat Providence on Saturday, should be able to stay their for another few weeks.
