It didn't take long. In fact it took less than one minute. On the second play of the Akron Zips first game the team found itself trailing, after allowing a 91-yard touchdown pass from Blake Brotles to Breshad Perriman.
Breshad Perriman's 91-yard TD catch was the longest catch in team history. #UCF #Akron

If that wasn't bad enough for Akron, coughed up a fumble and gave up another TD pass from Brotles all in the first quarter.
UCF has its second TD of the game, taking a 14-0 lead over Akron with 2:23 left in the first.

Basically, Akron is getting manhandled and trails 24-0 at the half.
UCF is controlling the game, marching the ball up and down the field like it's nothing. Brotles has thrown three TD's, and is 13-for-19 with 248 yards. Perriman has 113 yards on three receptions. Meanwhile Akron is averaging less than 4 yards per play.
The Zips have been out gained 310 to 64, and new Zips quarterback Kyle Pohl has manged half of those yards on 6-of-8 passing. But, it's not all bad news for the Zips. Punter Zach Paul is having a hell of a game. He's punted four times for 199 yards.
