Central Michigan To Wear 1941-Inspired Throwback Jerseys Saturday

The Chippewas season might not look too great right now, but that won't be the case for the players themselves come Saturday thanks to some crisp throwback uniforms.

Central Michigan might not win on the gridiron this Saturday when the Chippewas welcome the Toledo Rockets to town for a little in conference #MACtion, but there's no doubt they'll win on the catwalk.

It's tradition's week in Mt. Pleasant and in honor of Chippewas' teams of past, Central Michigan is donning some crisp throwback jerseys.

As you can see from the above photo the uniforms feature a big maroon block "C" on a mustard jersey, with the jersey number located on the left chest. Alternating maroon and mustard panels grace the shoulders. The matte maroon helmets have a single bold mustard stripe down the center adding up to a simple but classic look.

The new throwbacks got their inspiration from these bad boys which look like something straight out of the movie  "Leatherheads":
