Ball State defeats Army 40-14

The Ball State Cardinals defeated the Army Black Knights 40-14 Saturday in Muncie, Indiana.

Ball State quarterback Keith Wenning completed 23 of 32 passes for 325 yards and two touchdowns.  Jamill Smith led the receiving corps with 5 catches for 83 yards and a touchdown. Tailbacks Teddy Williamson and Horactio Banks combined for 109 yards rushing.  Banks rushed for a pair of scores.

The Black Knights were led by running back Larry Dixon.  Dixon generated most of the Army offense rushing for 107 yards on 14 carries and two touchdowns.  Starting quarterback Angel Santiago threw for 49 yards and rushed for another 37.  Santiago was replaced in the fourth quarter by sophomore quarterback A.J. Schurr who threw for 27 yards and rushed for 41 in Army's triple option offense.

Ball State is back in action September 14th at North Texas.
