Nicholls leading WMU at the half 21-9

The Nicholls Colonels came into tonight's game as 4 touchdown underdogs.  With Kalen Henderson at quarterback, they have been nearly unstoppable on offense.

Henderson has been superb.  His 8-for-11 passing for 159 yards (but 1 INT) has set Nicholls up nices for their offense and has been excellent with his legs as well, going for 87 yards and a TD on just 6 carries.  He has received help from Marcus Washington as well, with his 49 yards and 2 TDs on 10 carries.  NU would've had another touchdown had Washington not fumbled a screen pass out of the endzone.  However, Henderson was carted off the field late in the half with an apparent head injury.

The Colonel defense has also been stout, shutting the Broncos offense down to the tune of 9 points and 233 yards, but had some key pass break-ups.  They have forced a TVT INT and forced 3 punts.  TVT has gone 11-for-24 for 140 yards and the Broncos have 93 yards on 23 carries (including a 12 yard sack of Van Tubbergen).

The big news is if 3rd string QB Tuskani Figaro (no joke, just how it sounds) can continue to lead the Colonels in this upset bid.  They will start with a 12 point lead, but WMU is set to get the kickoff.

Will Nicholls onside like the Broncos did after their lone TD?  (the result was the TVT pick).  Can Figaro get the Colonels to "sing" the upset tonight?  Will WMU wake up by rowing after the 3rd?  We'll find out.
