North Texas vs. Ohio: Halftime Update, Ohio leads 21-7

North Texas controlled the ball for nearly 20 minutes in the first half (19:50), but it was Ohio who would out gain the Mean Green 220 to 170.

Tyler Tettleton hooked up with Chase Cochran on the first play from scrimmage to get the Bobcats on the board early. 75 of Tettleton's 129 yards passing in the first half came on that first play. He would also complete seven of his 12 passes.

The Mean Green's lone score of the first half would come on an Antoinne Jimmerson three-yard score that finished off a 46-yard drive.

Ohio would respond by putting together a 72-yard drive, highlighted by multiple 10+ yard runs, with Ryan Boykin capping things off while on the receiving end of a 10-yard swing pass for the touchdown.

Jovon Johnson, a virtual unknown to Bobcat fans, came up with a fumble recovery and an interception return for a touchdown. The return came when Johnson sat underneath a shallow comeback route and snatched up a Derek Thompson pass and took it to the house to extend the Bobcats lead. The 21-7 score would stick until the half.

Special Teams troubles would continue for the Bobcats.

Travis Carrie had more than a few troubles returning the football on punts, with a fumble and a bobbled punt, don't be surprised to see a different  Bobcat back to receive punts. Matt Green would miss a 40-yarder, his third miss on the year, (making him 0/3).
